On the back of completing my unit of Ruglud's Orcs, I realised that I have painted two more greenskins in my attempt to recreate the cards from the Citadel Goblinoid Combat Card collection.
I'm making them by hand, which means they are far from perfect, but they use photos of my own miniatures and when the deck is complete I plan to play with them with my kids. Hopefully they will still be kids by that time.
More WH Top Trumps, I mean, Combat Cards .. cool. I like these, imperfect has its own charm .. I love to see the things gamers make and the unique style and flair that goes into them, from professionally printed Warhammer Quest Cards to hand drawn ones coloured with pencil crayon and hand painted game cards stained with tea and spattered with paint channelling the inner Blanchitsu. Hobby blogs are like a giant White Dwarf crammed with inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope blogging doesn't entirely disappear to be replaced by the short, instant and ephemeral tendencies of instagram and facebook. I like reading someone's thoughts and processes in detail, combined with some images and inspiration to accompany them. And more nuance than just a thumbs up or heart in response; thank you for your feedback and thoughts.
DeleteWhat a great idea to make your own personal set of cards using your own models, hope the kids enjoy playing them
ReplyDeleteCheers, I'll need to do a fair few more before we can start playing!
